Sebastian Curi & Macarena Luzi

Sebastian Curi

Bright and bold work reflects his training as an animator and graphic designer. He works in a pop style, employing cartoonish figures and playful compositions to describe ordinary scenes of life under the lens of a bright color palette. His experience allowed him to develop a unique style of illustration centering around quirky figures who live in their own super-stylised universe.

Sometimes animated, his work bounces happily between funny little GIFs, huge colorful hands-on silkscreen prints or big murals where you can lose yourself in.  Commercially savvy, his work has been highlighted by brands like Apple, Zara, Venmo, The New York Times, Nike, Warby Parker, and Uber among many others.

Macarena Luzi
an independent self-taught artist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Her multidisciplinary practice is centered around collage and image-making in the field of art, fashion, and commercial illustration. With a pop feeling and vibrant color palette, she bounces between painting, textile design, clothing collaborations, commercial illustration, and prints.

Christopher Sullivan - Roads

Christopher Sullivan is a contemporary Los Angeles artist who is painting portraits of streets that surrounds his life.

His Roads series is really an extension and continuation of his LA Over Under Freeway series. By using the materials of the streets themselves  - 5 different kinds of asphalt, glass microspheres, thermal paint and even street maintenance crews- he creates trenchant work that engages directly with the streets of LA.

A lifelong car enthusiast himself, Sullivan plays with the twisted textures of pavement to create literal street art.

Carlos Ramirez

Stop by and view work by Mexican-American artist, Carlos Ramirez.

Carlos Ramirez’s work is ornamented with or contrived from found objects and steeped in Californaia’s Mexican-American experience through Catholic, political, and pop-culture references and symbolism. Much like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ramirez employs a primitivist approach that resonates among his Mexican-American peers and those that have overcome adversarial hardships.

Clarity - James Wyper

Canadian artist James Wyper was born in British Colombia in 1971, and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, home of modernist painter William Perehudoff, whose work was particularly inspiring, and the excellent Mendel Art Gallery, which was an influential childhood sanctuary.

His bright, geometric paintings explore the idea that state-of-being (consciousness) is causal. They illustrate states of meditation, ecstasy, spontaneous spiritual realization, and transcendence. James' liminal paintings are active devices which emanate the energy of the intention of their making, and reflect to viewers their own state(s) of consciousness.

"Painters are the vessels through which their paintings are distilled. The aware painter puts their person in communion with (their) higher consciousness, perceives the painting, and expresses it. The painting then exists as the physical artifact of the artist's act of communion."

- James Wyper
